Psalm 112:2 (NCV) Their descendants will be powerful in the land; the children of honest people will be blessed.

What examples are you setting for your children to follow?
1. Selflessly serve with JOY
2. Be generous

Our children will be blessed. We may not leave them with many possessions or a trust fund, but we are demonstrating opportunities to serve and be generous with joy. Because we live by these principles, we have seen miracles in our lives!

Proverbs 22:9 (NCV) Generous people will be blessed.

Ephesians 6:7 (NCV) Do your work with enthusiasm. Work as if you were serving The Lord, not as if you were serving only men and women.

It’s challenging for me to not long for nice things, a bigger house, and more money because that’s what society has taught me – to strive and long for such things, and I deserve them for working hard. But watching my parents fall on hard times as a teen opened my eyes to the probability of difficulties to come in everyone’s lifetime at one point or another.

My husband is completely the opposite of me. He has ingrained in his DNA the value of serving and being generous, even if it’s donating our last few dollars if he feels led by God. It’s terrifying to me to live life so generous. But God has been faithful and has provided huge blessings to us, which has strengthened my relationship and faith in Him and helped me find joy in serving my family and community. Living life generous is cyclical. When I’m joyful and not fearful, my husband’s capacity to hear from God and lead is strengthened, therefore positively impacting our home and children!
